Hey what's ur number
Please if you can help and advise?
I have just joined Amazon Retail as sr Program Manager a month ago. I miss banking/technology now. I have heard that I can move teams. I know it’s too early so I don’t know how to approach this situation and potential HMs. Reaching out to this community to seek help if you have similar roles for which you (or your network) is hiring, would you be able to help? It’s better to be in a relevant role and be best than performing poor in current role. Please help.
Hope it's alright to share job opportunities?

Not really Williamsburg, that area mainly attracts the fresh out of college transplants. LIC is a huge biglaw nest - know so many there
Yeah I’ve noticed that too, that LIC is more popular. It’s interesting that LIC is more popular for biglaw folks despite the fact that LIC is more known for its international community. It’s not just the international biglaw associates who live there
I think fresh out of college is also a bit young for Williamsburg. Most of my friends there are ~30. LIC is more known for fresh international grads
I think it’s still too “hip” for biglaw associates. And to be clear, this is not commentary on how hip Williamsburg is (it’s not), but how traditional biglaw associates are. Seems like most associates live in UWS/UES, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, places where you’d live if you had a family.
lol right? I thought williamsburg has long been corporatized, and has been filled with lame folks for decades. I have plenty of finance and tech bro friends who live there. I guess biglaw associates are just on another level of lame
Downtown BK is also popular for tech/biglaw/finance transplants. A lot of biglaw associates also live in lame corporate neighborhoods like murray hill, columbus circle and midtown.
Wow so true. Don’t forget upper west side if they are feeling spicy 😴
I agree the commute isn’t great. I live in south Williamsburg and take the M train to midtown which doesn’t require a transfer. I used to live in north Williamsburg and take the ferry to E 34th and then walk. Either way it’s a 45+ min commute. That being said, I like the area and got really used to it, so I’m fine with commuting a bit longer. I’ve also noticed not many biglaw folks seem to live in Williamsburg and don’t really understand why. LIC seems like a very boring and not very pretty neighborhood (not that Williamsburg is perfect by any means)
I totally get wanting a short commute in law school for example, but in the real world? I’d much rather live in a place I enjoy. For me work=\=life. I guess many biglaw associates disagree
Williamsburg is a tough commute… otherwise would be very tempting
The transfer throws some peeps off (like me), also if L ever breaks down (which happens…)
LIC is super nice as a big law area- super-duper close to everything. Mirror your sentiments about International grads
But the neighborhood itself doesn’t have much beyond boba. I used to live there but left because it doesn’t have much neighborhood vibe. Maybe biglaw associates just super prioritize convenience. Seems like a common KJD thing
Sadly the L line doesn’t go to law firms. But the 7 does so you get many more in LIC.
Does the L train even exist? 🤔 It's a real pain.
The L is the most reliable train, mainly because it doesn’t share with any other trains
