I look for evidence of momentum. If learning, scope, and pay are all stagnant for over a year, waiting rarely pays off. The risk of staying quietly compounds.

Well for me was simply put I needed to start anew elsewhere... my job at my former place was just not good for my mental health

The question is also like, when should you jump? I want to move up but there is no clear path way to move
Internal promotion and pay bump are not necessarily synonymous. When the internal promotion doesn’t pay, that’s when I wouldn’t bother waiting and look elsewhere. Right now, my next level is something worth waiting for, at least for a while. Curious to know how others see it where they are.

Most people would say now is not the time to jump. But with that being said, if I was unhappy or underpaid I would still jumps. Just want more money and that will always be on your mind, then jump if you can afford the risk of being laid off at your new company.
