It feels like they've found an easy way out by telling everyone that they're already on the higher side of the salary band. Since nobody knows the actual band structure, no one can really challenge that claim. I've seen SAs earning ₹28 LPA being told they're at the higher end of the band, while SAs earning ₹33 LPA are told exactly the same thing.
