As someone who has been on the recommender side -- the people i agree to write them for are free to hound me as much as they want;
Usually have folks set calendar holds for me as reminders of deadlines so I see it the week it's due, then they text / ping me on occasions where it hasn't been submitted ~24 hrs before the deadline
Deloitte 1 makes a good point. If these folks have agreed to write them, then you can hound them (to a point). They may have time blocked on their calendar to do it when they get back from vacation.
Frankly, recommendations are due at the deadline (though most schools with the exception of HBS) have a grace period for recommendations to catch up. You are >2 weeks out from the earliest deadlines.
Just shoot an email or text to your recommenders asking if they have everything they need to write the recommendations. And if you haven't already done so, point them to the GMAC common letter of recommendation. It is accepted at most schools so they just need to write one recommendation, save it to .pdf and upload it in multiple places. Schools that don't accept the Common LOR often ask exactly the same questions (Booth and Kellogg) so recommenders just need to paste their responses into the portals.
