That’s kind of what it feels like. Absolve themselves of responsibility in case things go sideways. New manager is spread across 4 brands but still below ACD
This is a classic orange flag.
They gave you your 'own brand,' yet with neither the title recognition nor compensation in return. If they did this because they were impressed they definitely would have. They're just dumping workflow on you they don't have the money to hire someone else for. It's abusive—but not personal. Watch out for yourself and monitor your exploitation conscientiously
Proceed with caution and a solid 6-month exit plan. It won't take longer to "prove" what they clearly already know you can do. Stay longer w/no promo and they—and your colleagues—will inherently respect you less, and growth opportunities will naturally stall indefinitely.
I love the positive outlook in these responses. Try leaning into that, but be very wary of overworking yourself.
