I've been at my job as Admin Assistant for 22 years. I assumed with my length of employment it would be easy to find another job. NOPE! We are so far behind the times. I have been interviewed many times and they seem shocked when they find out I know nothing about programs their office uses. I don't mind getting a head start and learning these programs, but I don't know what I need to learn. Anyone have suggestions? I use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.

Had my annual review Friday (first year with the company). Boss awarded a 3% raise though she said my review was “90% positive.” Worth adding I got a 3% sign on bonus last year, so I’m basically at 0% raise. Nobody under me has gotten less than a 7% raise in the past year. Considering promotions + counter offers as well, it goes as high as 25%. I don’t feel a 3% raise matches a “90% positive” review and plan to bring up the cognitive dissonance I’m feeling. Any other tips or advice to add?

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center).
