Sometimes working with a legal recruiter can help because they can remind the client / internal recruiting team of your interest and seek updates consistently.
Attorneys are busy which can naturally derailing an otherwise smooth hiring process. Wanting to see more candidates just to be sure can also lose momentum with a great candidate. Lastly, a shift in priorities can put hiring on the back burner again losing a great candidate.

I was just about to ask a similar question. After you have the initial interview with a firm, what makes the firm grow quiet?
Another question is if the firm is not going to proceed further with your application, why would a firm not tell the applicant? Some firms are great, letting you know within one to two weeks where your application rests. But how long does it take to write an applicant saying that the firm will not be proceeding further with their application?
