I've been interviewing for a role for 1.5 months. After every interview, they say I'm done with the process and should hear back soon, but then end up scheduling another round. I’m now heading into my 5th interview. (feels like they’re waiting for more applicants).

Meanwhile, I’ve got another offer with a deadline by the end of the week. How do I politely tell HR that I’ve prioritized their role for 1.5 months but now have a time-sensitive offer, without sounding rude? Advice?

Had conversations with 3-4 teams so far, many times great feedback/compliments even during the team matching chat, but no successful match yet. I have a contact who is a hiring mgr at a company I want to work for. He told me he has an open role for me and set me up with 6 interviews over a 2 week period. They all went really well and HR said I’ll most likely be moving forward to a site visit. But now my contact has ghosted me. After I made 3 outreaches he had his aa schedule time for two weeks out. Why am I being iced?
