I’ve been offered a role at a new firm .Upon resigning i wil be on gardening leave for 3 mths

Concerns :
1) When do I resign from my current role - after signing the new contract or after the background verification is completed by my new employer? My fear is if something comes up as an issue during background check?

2) In the current economic scenario I am afraid with the 3 month gap, what are the chances of retracting my offer ? How can I remain protected?
Don’t want to end up losin both.

You don’t put in notice until the background check clears

Also see if you can negotiate in a 6mo severance minimum and also a clause about clawback

100% agree with SVP1 on not putting notice in until background clears. Always a safe measure

Echoing what others have said, definitely don't put in your notice until everything is cleared and you have your start date. There was once a delay with one of my background check and I didn't start for an extra month..

Sweet nose, but then a hit of savory spice on the tongue with an insanely long finish that is all cigar.

I wouldn’t drink this with a cigar, because you wouldn’t notice it, but it’s insane how much that finish lingers and mimics the mouth tingle after smoking a cigar.
