I’ve been offered the role of Head of Operations at a e-commerce jewellery company. Im currently the operations manager siting at £54 based in the South East. I’ve got 8 years of operations experience within FMCG, finance and e-commerce.

I’ll essentially be going from managing one business and its processes and advising another with what improvements would be useful for us to managing both. I’m planning on asking 70k but I’m unsure if that’s too much given my current salary. Any advice ?

As an A3, I finally understand why people work so late in busy season. It’s because you don’t get any work done until 6 pm, when the pings and meeting finally slow down. I can’t work on something for more than 10 minutes without something else popping up.

I used to hate growing up poor. Now I'm still poor but I've learned a lot of really practical things. T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?

Im a pastry cook with 4yrs experience and the average salary start for this position is now at $22/hr here in vegas, especially in the strip. But cooking/baking is not my passion. So im changing into veterinary medicine and im seeing that the starting rate for a vet tech is around $16-18. Why is that?? Why are people in the vet med industry being paid so low?? Something needs to change. Labor of love aint enough for the people in this job.

I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!
