Unfortunately I think a big answer is "it depends." Personally a lot of what I've seen friends go into is an AI deployment/strategy type role (i.e., instead of deploying salesforce or some other tech, deploying an AI platform (in many cases proprietary) and all the things (change management, comms, integrations, etc.) surrounding that)

Interesting, I'm on the first side (ERP implementation).
For the AI Deployment/Strat you've seen, how technical are those people? Good with tech and a bit of coding or more on the software engineering side?
Usually identifying the business areas and use cases to apply AI, then from a technology perspective what architecture is needed, data requirements, tools to be implemented, and how does they fit all together in a roadmap.
It should fit into the tech org but requires a good understanding of the business
They are helping orgs to figure out where to use AI. If AI promise is real, then it should become obsolete. You shouldn’t be spending millions on making deck about AI, that is very absurd. There are going to be models which can support this very easily
