Same journey but will pull the plug only after having several millions in my bank account. Takes time to make it but you can lose everything if you don’t have good discipline
Quitting your job to trade full-time without at least a year’s worth of living expenses saved is just financial roulette. One red month and you’ll be crawling back to the 9–5. The market doesn’t care about your bills.

I once went for it. Quit a very high paying job. The loneliness did me in. Went back to consulting.
No regrets. Why? Never looked back.
Can you Dm me plz? I have a proposition!
My husband did this. Before we met, he saved up $40k and then quit his job and day/swing traded full time. Obviously that is a VERY small account to be making a living on but he kept his expenses very low and valued freedom from a 9-5 above all else (and loves the market/finance; he’s a CFP so that’s his background).
He had some high highs and has had some low lows, but has stuck with it and now trades an account around $5-600k depending on the day. Obviously different since we now have two incomes, but he did it on his own for ~3 years before we met/married and swears he would never go back.
Well am in the ripping the band aid off category as I was recently let go and the sole bread winner. I would highly recommend to not leave the job until you can consistently cash out at least 50% of your monthly pay from your brokerage to your bank account. The only thing you need is rigorous discipline, no emotional trading, no knee-jerk reactions to market conditions. And have a stop loss for every trade you place.
can we get an update?
