I’ve been working FT while completing my masters online. I have a Winter 2023 consulting offer upon completing my masters and have been thinking about quitting my current job early and traveling before starting my new role. I just feel really shitty about it because I would be quitting my current role after only 6 months and they spent a lot of time and resources to train me. Wanted to see if others thought taking the time off to travel before starting a new role would be worth it.

I have been increasingly given more responsibility and even more side projects. I have also been proactive and searching for internal positions that fit my skill set. Can I get suggestions on when would be the opportune time to ask for a raise? Should I wait until my one year anniversary? How should I go about this?
