I’ve noticed smaller firms respond faster but larger firms feel more structured and slow. I’m not sure if faster response actually means better odds or just less formal process. Do you read into response speed at all?

I don't read into it at all. I have had big firms get back to me really quickly in the past. I honestly think sometimes it depends on how many applications they get and how quickly they need to fill the role.

Not really. It just depends on the hiring process of each firm. I’ve had faster responses from big firms and slower response from smaller ones.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission?
