Unfortunately that is case in most industries. I myself have taken solutions to my supervisors, just to be ignored or told this will never work. Due to other positions that will not do the extra step, because they do not have time or just do not want more work. Mind it it would be just 1 or 2 extra steps that would eliminate a whole bunch of claim denials or rework.

That's so frustrating, I get it!
As soon as the rant starts, I ask how they propose to fix it. If the whining continues, I let them know that I believe that we are the subject matter experts and have the solutions. If the negativity continues, I check out of the conversation. Sitting around complaining or gossiping does nothing to improve the vibe or motivate leadership to listen.

Exactly, I agree
That describes a lot of my coworkers! There are times I'd like to tell people to either do something about what they're going on about, or just knock it off already. I guess it's true that they need something to get worked up about. What I do around people like that is just try to tune it out and do my own work.

Yeah maybe they just aren't keeping work in perspective for some reason and so it is the most dramatic thing going on to them
Tune them out. Seriously. These people have the solutions in front of them, they just don't care about making a change. You can't make it for them, and listening to their negativity 24/7 will only make you negative too. Avoid them if you can, cut the conversations short when they get on a tangent if you can't.

Tuning out sounds like a good strategy, thank you!
I honestly just listen to them and ignore them at the same time. Some people are always going to find something to complain about no matter how good things are.

Yes sometimes I tune out but still filter what they are saying. I don't want someone to ever think i agreed to something that they said, when I am just zoned out

Sometimes people use complaining as a way to release stress rather than solve problems. Focusing on solutions yourself and setting boundaries around negative conversations can help protect your energy.

Thank you! 🙏

Some people really thrive on that kind of excitement and challenge! But instead of focusing on working harder and doing a better job, they stress themselves out this way. I'd just do what everyone else says: ignore them and concentrate on your job.
