I’ve noticed that when leadership avoids hard conversations, the whole team ends up carrying the tension. It creates a quiet kind of stress that’s hard to name. Have you worked somewhere like that?

I’m sure everyone’s worked someplace like this in the past. Some people get promoted to leadership and they shouldn’t. They can’t handle the burden so it ends up being on all of our shoulders to carry.

Yes, I feel like it’s because everyone on the team knows who is slacking or is harmful not helpful to the team, nothing being done about it is defeating.

Something was happening behind the scenes. At first, we thought it was just being avoided. Has anyone else experienced a situation like that? I’ve only seen it once, but it gave me enough hope to think that maybe the hard conversations are happening. We just don’t always know about them.

Guys i am switching jobs for first time so need your help
Company x offered me 9 LPA
Company y offered 11 LPA

I want to join company x more due to their tech stack, culture etc. It's also an established product based company while y is service based.
How do I initiate negotiations with x? I have plenty of time left in notice, but x also requested to join early (if previous company releases, with buyout+bonus) for which I have discussions next Wednesday.

I’m an Environmental Protection Specialist and make pretty good money for what I do. I just feel like I have more to offer than being a worker bee in a system at 25. Any suggestions that won’t require me taking a crazy pay cut? I’m pretty much open to anything.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
