I got a new job about a month and a half ago. I have a head hunter I did not accept a job with ask me how my new job is going. Anyone know why they are following up with me?

I left an omnicom agency for a Publicis one. My new benefits cost me 250 a paycheck (medical, dental, vision) for my spouse and kids. At omnicom it was 630 per check. That’s fuckin robbery right there.

How do we feel about password protected portfolio sites? Versus password protected individual projects? What’s easier / better?

I just got laid off — anyone else get hit this round? ☹️

What's the best way to gain visibility by those holding 3-4 positions higher than you? I like learning from them and growing mentorships but can't break the AE-level wall with my responsibilities. Being remote also makes it harder to interact.

Have you quit your job after getting a verbal offer but before receiving a written offer?

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

How do you tell a job you’re leaving after two weeks of working there? Got a better opportunity offered to me, and I have to take it, but don’t want to burn bridges.

I get sad when a recruiter sets a time to chat with me and then never calls or answers messages after that

Is there a rule of thumb when asking the scheduling people (for us it’s retain) for additional clients or scheduling? Trying to possibly get more exposure

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

I have mostly passive investments. I was thinking the other day: what if everyone had only passive investments? Wouldn’t this create incredibly high amount of systemic risk? Are we all sheep??

What’s your hourly rate for web development and where are you located? If you’re able to share, I’d really appreciate it. My agency is trying to figure out how to strike a balance in quoting website projects. We’re based in New Orleans and are not looking to gather comp set data. We just need some validation.
