I've spent a month job hunting and tailoring cover letters for every job I apply to. But do recruiters really read these things? I'm wondering if it's worth the time, or should I just put that energy into my resume? I'd appreciate any feedback.

I have a friend in human resources and she says that they skim them at best. Barely read any of them. I would spend more time on submitting apps and just stick with a standard cover letter.

I don't think anyone's reading cover letters. You need your resume to stand completely on its own. Unless they ask for one specifically, it's not worh the time.

Zip recruiter now has AI to match you to roles. Companies can reach out to you.

Reach out to the hiring manager directly. If they like you, they’ll forward your resume to the recruiter for the first screening call. That’s how I got interviews. It worked for me and better than waiting for recruiters to pick you from a pile.

Oof. True or not true? I don't know if I would still make the same choice if I knew how things were going to end up. I tend to be on the "PBM's ruined pharmacy" brigade. If you knew then what you know now, would you still go to pharmacy school?

I have a client who needs a 401k, or a solo retirement account w loan options. When I was at UBS/Ameriprise, it was no issue but now it seems tougher to find a firm that does solo 401k as a RIA's.
