Should I get the CAPM or go straight for the PMP?

I currently work for the fed government as a contract specialist for 2.5 years but have been thinking about making career change to project management. I also have a masters in public administration. I know you need 3 years of experience in PM to get a PMP but I wanted to know if it would be possible to sit for the exam without the experience? I mean I technically have 6 more months until I obtain the 3 years of experience. Thought?

Newish VP client has made one mistake after another for months, and exponentially bigger mistakes. Unreasonable mistakes like emailing the counterparty attorney confidential negotiation documents “thinking it was our external counsel”. Been patient, talked to him, he gets upset and always turns it on me. I’ve signaled this to EVP & GC several times and emailed them all the mistakes and shortcomings. What else should I do? Advice? I’m interviewing for an enterprise project manager for a county government entity. The interviewer OPENED the interview by stating the salary range, I’m guessing to weed out those who would not be interested in the stated range, which seemed very low, even for government. Does $65k seem low for this sort of role? I’ve interviewed mostly with tech companies, and nothing has started at less than $100k/annually. Benefits are pretty unremarkable.

Have a true IIED case (negligent handling of corpse). Defendants defaulted and I am now considering the best course forward to get my client the best recovery. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty.
