Just impulsively quit a super toxic firm. The biggest rainmaker I worked for was basically a narcissistic toddler with an anger problem. She would apologize but my mental health was suffering not to mention I couldn’t get work done when she stormed around the office yelling at people, or about people. I need a job ASAP! I have been doing FPP defense but would prefer to either go in house or go back to land use and development. Any ideas appreciated.

I’m in a tough spot—still waiting for conflicts to clear and out of the blue, a partner reached out regarding a project that they’ve staffed me on. They want my availability to begin working on the matter next week…how do I handle this? I haven’t given notice, but expect to do so soon…I don’t think it’s prudent to start a new matter esp. since I know I’m leaving…but I can’t turn down work with a straight face (especially because my hours are in “checked out” mode)…

How should I answer the question, “did you earn income working remotely by providing the services in a different state than the state you originally engaged employment with it”? If it matters, I never set foot in CA.
