Depends on your office and what team/partner you get assigned too. Decent pay, decent benefits and lots of opportunities to work on different types of cases. CSK practices good law, you will get good litigation experience and trial experience depending on the county you practice in. I worked at the Jax location. Collect your forms and create good relationships with co-defendants and Plaintiffs counsel. If there is a specific team you are working on, let me know and I can share what I know!
Haven't worked at the lauderdale office location, but haven't heard good things. You do get a ton of experience and I've learned more in 1 year there than I did 3.5-4 yrs at the state. Fast paced and billables are high. Once you get the hang of it, its not terribly hard to meet billables because the work load is high. You definitely won't be bored! Also, it is a great way to get you to learn billables and learning to think on your feet fast. The partner you get can make or break your experience there. I'm assigned to 2 partners and they are extremely different. Thankfully one off sets the other and balances the stressors.
Yikes. Short answer, read Glassdoor/Indeed reviews. I’d look elsewhere.
I know a few people that worked in the Tampa office and they left within months. The list can go on and on of the reasons but one story of many that stuck out was a partner giving an associate grief for attending a family funeral and not billing.
I’ve always heard the billables are incredibly high.
Fort Lauderdale
Which office? Which department?
From what I’ve seen and heard: SUPER high turn over. AND you’ll be very overworked (more so than other firms).
Do not work there. It is a Toxic environment.
You were 100% correct. Horrible experience. Trying to get out as fast as possible.
It’s a factory.
