I understand how you feel, I thought being a senior would make me happy but I’m miserable and wish I was in your shoes as a manager/senior manager.
However, I’ve learnt to find happiness in the things In things that have nothing to do with work or money. I put 7 really poor kids through secondary/high school, seeing them gives me joy, I opened a small shop for one of my friends in Nigeria so he can make money, that makes me happy.
All I’m saying is that you’ve been blessed, be a blessing to others and maybe that may give you happiness. Delete your social media accounts and focus on your life.
Go find what makes you happy. I’m not saying to leave the firm, but more so go explore your other interest. Take up a cooking class, hang out with family, volunteer, get a pet, take vacations, go see the world, and etc. Life is what you make so take control of your life!
The success does not make me happy because I have no one to share it with. I’m 28 and single and get tired of coming home to an empty house. I really really want to get married and have children, but that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.
Can you elaborate?
Although I was able to accomplished all my dreams (Senior Manager now, own a nice condo, drive nice car, just started my own consulting firm in Africa, brought my mom is America were she stays now, etc). Coming for Africa when I compare with my peers or some while kids from my school I think I made it pretty well. But I still feel not happy and I keep searching for happiness. Any else in the same shoes ?
Where in Africa are you from? My best friend felt the same until he met the one. I am sorry you are going through this. I am proud of what you accomplished. I am also from Africa and even though am just a senior , I still feel proud of where I am. I am a single mom of an amazing 5 year old and he makes me very very happy which definitely makes a huge difference.
I don’t have a solution , just encouragements ...
