Ladies, are you able to find time to take care of your skin? My skin has been great throughout my 20s so I didn't develop a skincare regime for myself. Now that I'm in my mid-30s, I see that my skin could really use the extra help. My husband on the other hand seems to be aging like fine wine! What does your routine look like? I'm so new to this space so feel free to give me any tips/product recommendations/advice. My current skin needs are skin elasticity and slowing of lines+wrinkle formation.

Highly recommend working with an esthetician. I started getting monthly facials last summer, which has done wonders for my skin, but the big difference has been getting customized skincare recommendations from a professional who sees my face on a regular basis. Before I started working with an esthetician, I was just using whatever people online recommended, which were not good products for my skin. Investing in professional expertise has been a godsend—I now have a solid lineup of products that does wonders, as well as a monthly facial to address other concerns like congestion, hydration, etc.

Hmmm. Now i need to start back getting facials on a routine basis. I forgot the wonders they did

Not sure if you’re a Redditor or not, but Skincare Addiction subreddit has lots of great information. I’ve started rotating several acids from Makeup Artists Choice (often referred to as MUAC on Reddit) that have made an incredible difference in my skin in only a few months. There are some very strong acids they offer; I’d recommend to skip the intense stuff and leave that to a professional.

Also: your husband is probably aging very well but probably isn’t doing as well as you think. You’re likely subconsciously excusing the fine lines, sun damage, and minor hyper pigmentation that society considers acceptable on men and judges on women.

And finally: Sunscreen every day is the most important thing you can do.

Wow! This is great advice. Thanks for all the suggestions. And making me feel better about my husband haha

Don't overcomplicate your skincare. These 10,12,15 step routines are not better for your skin. Find a simple routine with quality products that aligns well with your skin type and needs. Second going to an esthetician or dermatologist for help.

And yes, water and sleep help, but if you're like me, your body won't let you get consistently good sleep, so you have to focus on other things.

Everyone’s skin type is different and trial and error is definitely going to come into place. But definitely figure out your skin first. Dry? Oily? Discolored? Does it change with the season?

I have a wash, toner, serum, moisturize routine for my face.

Wash — Clean & Clear morning and night 2 pack
Tone — Good Molecules Brightening Toner (i have discoloration and the winter makes it worse. Ashes me out)
Serum — Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum (rehydrates me and i love the glow)
Moisturize — CeraVe Face Moisturizer

Full body is a whole ‘nother thing but I’m happy to share

This is already great info, but sure! I'm happy to get more that you're willing to share

I assume that would be pretty expensive. How often would you recommend it? And do you have any other tips in general?

The system that I like and have used for about the past 3 to 4 years is drunk elephant. I had oily skin and as I’ve gotten older, it has transformed into dry normal skin. T zone is still decently oily. This is a simple skin care routine cleanse moisturize serum at night. There’s a day serum as well. The sunscreen that I use is by goop. And because this system is decently, simple, I do it twice a day.

The beauty about their facial system is you can mix and match it like a smoothie. Go out on the website and see how they use some of their products. It makes no difference if my skin needs a little more moisture one night and a little more serum the next I can put in different ingredients at night and then switched it up the next night if I need to.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
