If you take back your resignation you won't be able to resign for the next 6 months. Onsite is just a gimmick yes. Get an email from your manager mentioning you'll take back your resignation but if you do not get to travel within 2 months they have to match your current offer. If they say yes over email which they usually won't you can withdraw your resignation. If you've never been onsite I'd recommend you go for the international exposure atleast.
If you are really interested in onsite opportunity, ask your manager/DM to start the process... Assure them that if everything goes well if you get the visa on time and every formality done on or before lwd you will revoke the resignation. Also take the salary breakups of onsite before revoking and everything on mail from DM or manager. If they are not agreeing on this then join another company.
90% of these type of opportunities are just to retain the employees. Saying this because it has happened to 2-3 friends of mine and they were not able to resign for 6 months.
I have offer of 100% hike in infy
Also, how is your lwd in 18 days? Notice period is 3 months right?
