Last week, our tracking system froze just as a client called asking where their urgent load was. I tried refreshing, rebooting, even whispered a prayer to the IT gods—nothing worked. So, I guessed the location based on “gut instinct.” Ten minutes later, the driver called… from the opposite side of the city. The client wasn’t amused, but my team hasn’t stopped calling me “GPS Singh” since. Ever tried to stay calm when your whole system decides to play hide-and-seek?

Can anyone relate? If I’m stressed out, I can’t focus on my tasks because my productivity is driven by creative and explorative thought. When I’m stressed or anxious, my mind doesn’t have the room or space to think freely to get things done, and I end up bouncing around different tasks not getting anything done. And then there’s the whole dopamine addiction issue with doing a small amount of work then hopping on social media because you feel like you need the reward. Just me?

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.
