Can anyone relate? If I’m stressed out, I can’t focus on my tasks because my productivity is driven by creative and explorative thought. When I’m stressed or anxious, my mind doesn’t have the room or space to think freely to get things done, and I end up bouncing around different tasks not getting anything done. And then there’s the whole dopamine addiction issue with doing a small amount of work then hopping on social media because you feel like you need the reward. Just me?

Not just you at all lol. I perpetually start new projects in the middle of old ones and then I get upset when nothing gets finished completely.

I feel this in my SOUL. Please know that you are not alone in this. I feel like this is definitely something that people struggling with ADHD have experienced. I also do the social media thing. It is sooooooo bad, but I am continuing to work on it.

During the pandemic we started incorporating SparkHire for one way video interviews and now my hiring managers are super attached to it. It was intended to cut down on rounds of interviews - one SparkHire + 1 in person meeting. But now I'm seeing a lot of candidates drop off and not follow through on the spark hire. Is there any argument to hold onto one way video interviews anymore or should I drop it?

I’m in IT in a large corp and I don’t know what to do. I’m the systems engineer and I planned around what I thought was a straight forward concept. It appears what I thought would be possible was wrong. Everyone celebrated thinking I’d figured it out, including me. Hi guys. Quite tensed regarding the tax that I would need to pay for my salary. So I have posted my offered compensation by IBM .
So my taxable income is: 16,50,000(Income) - Standard Deduction(50,000) - 80C Deductions(1,50,000) - Interest on Edu Loan(48,500) - Professional tax(2400)
= 13,99,100.
So anyone who is familiar with this tax deduction, can u plz tell me how much tax I would need to pay per month?
Any valuable input would be of immense help.

As a neurodivergent professional one thing I’ve never figured out is how to leverage your network to get a job. Specifically, jobs that aren’t publicized widely. Do you straight up just ask? I know I can always ask my references to put in a good word but what about the many jobs that aren’t widely advertised?

For anyone who’s ever submitted an accommodation request at work or is familiar with the process — is it normal for a lawyer to be involved in the decision process of accommodation requests? I submitted a request for accommodations last week & HR told me they wrote up a summary of the accommodations they are able to provide & they have to have a lawyer review it before letting me know their decision & I’m feeling like that’s abnormal. Anyone have any helpful insight?

Whew this group is a relief to find. No one at my job knows I have ADHD, and I only have one other friend with it. I manage a team of people and the stress of checking, double checking, and triple-checking everything to make sure I'm not forgetting anything or behind on anything is insane. I've kind of got the hang of keeping focus during work hours, but I'm just constantly on edge that someone will notice or I'll start falling behind.

Just started medication - adderal helped but if I didn’t take it for a day the withdrawal was UNBEARABLE. On vyvanse now.. tbh feels like my brain fog started when I started meds?

Diagnosed with ADHD at 40. Tried Vyvanse for a couple of months. It works in terms of depriving grogginess, afternoon post meal crash, and suppressing appetite (at times).

However, I still needed help planning/prioritizing my day,  listening and active note taking, and keeping myself accountable. So decided to replace meds with coffee. Also, the fact that most people on meds had to progressively increase their medication over time did not sit well with me. (cont'd)

Anyone find themselves interrupting too much? I tend to get excited when talking with friends or about something I'm passionate about, and I occasionally will totally interrupt someone (unintentionally) when I get too into it. Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. Sometimes I ignore, procrastinate or simply other more urgent things come up to increase the delay. Also I work with 3 managers in my team which doesn’t help with expectations nor guidance. Any tips pls?

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

Anyone here struggle with drinking enough water every day? Growing up, I drank a lot of soda and fruit juices but since 2020, I’ve been trying to be one of those people who always has a water bottle. They say you drink some when you first wake up but I never have a taste for it and then never remember to start drinking until about noon.
