Bain & Company Got dinged after a final round AC interview with Bain & Company as an experienced hire with 1 YOE. Currently at $75k base salary and on average work 30-40 hours a week.
Considering $15-25k increase in salary, but double the number of work hours, is it worth reapplying to Bain next year or better to wait to apply until after business school?

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Did you apply to BCG, Bain, Oliver Wyman, Kearney, s&? I’ve seen internals of consulting recruiting at couple of firms. If you have the right basics than often it’s up to luck and personal chemistry. The $$ are similar, quality of projects and prestige varies. Saying that, I believe all above firms are paying better and more fun than vast majority of employers out there. Mck are exceptionally good, but shouldn’t be the only choice.
Yes, I got in Bain Advantage last year. Haven't been able to get interviewe at BCG US despite coffee chat with recruiter and a principals referral. BCG is not even doing full time canpus hiring for ADCs this year. Other firms don't take ADCs that often and I have applied with no success.
I am not fixated on MBB, just want to get foot in the door. The reason I am asking advice is because I would come as an experienced hire. So, how can I improve my profile to be more competitive next year. It would take 2-3 years to get promoted from my current level as a Scientist.
Haha same fellas! there is another me. I got rejected even with 10/10 mck game
Coach
It may have to do with the office(s) you are ranking and how many open spots they have. Not all offices are hiring equally
What improvements did you show in your resume - new leadership roles at work, academic awards, extracurricular / volunteering outside of work like nonprofit boards, leading initiatives outside of your day job?
You wouldn’t be a campus hire anymore
I know that's why I am asking suggestions to navigate this situation. As a Scientist it will take me 2-3 years to get promoted. What can I do to show improvement in my profile? In grad school, it was easy with consulting club, probono work, VC etc.
What are you asking for? The fact is you didn’t pass somehow
I didn't get an interview this time. I am asking what I can do for next cycle to get interviewe.
Has it been a full year since you applied previously? I think that’s typically our minimum for interview rejections, before we consider you again.
I honestly think the best thing to do is contact the recruiter you worked with previously. I would think it’s a bit weird that you were rejected without an interview, for some reason I thought that the whole point of the KIT program is that you’ll likely be re-invited to interview.
Yes, its been a year. I was in my final year last year and now I graduated in May. This was ADC track, they allowed rolling basis applications for recent graduates. I know some people who were in KIT got reinterviwed in 6 months only.
Yes, I have email the recruiter, will wait for a couple more days to hear back.
Edit, was rejected without interview when reapplied.
