Last year I was told, “You’re doing great, just wait for next cycle.” Same thing the year before. I’ve been at this company for three years now, crushing every review and picking up extra projects, but somehow the raise never materializes. I’m tired of waiting for validation that never comes. This year, I’m making a promise to myself to stop settling for vague timelines and start advocating harder. What’s one thing you’re refusing to tolerate this year?

If you've been working for three years without a raise, take the hint! Get serious about moving on. The main thing I'm wary about this year are projects that start to balloon way beyond their scope. I get that people are fixated on cutting costs, but trying to squeeze more and more out of people reaches a point where it's just untenable.

Move on. If you haven’t gotten raise, evaluate your work If you believe you are good as others then move on where you have a fresh start

What do you mean by “not settling..” and how do you “advocate harder”? Sounds great, but what is the course of action and have you thought of the consequences of saying “no”?

in situations like this, the important thing to do is to look for another job, and create leverage for yourself.

Move on. They are going to continue this song and dance

I would move on, keep bringing it up to your manager, or refuse to take on more work outside of your role. This year I’m trying to be better about pushing back with product partners that think everything is possible when it’s not

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.
