Didn't EY tell you what position you were being hired for?
160k is upper middle class.....DC, NY, San Fran doesn't matter where in the USA.... You people need a reality check. Sure you don't have a 3 bedroom apartment with a doorman in Manhattan.... Hand to mouth my ass
@D1 Most people in NY make salaries that are a lot lower and have families. They would disagree that 160 is hand to mouth.
D1 - not sure where OP is from but 160 in NYC and you are barely getting by.
PI finance doesn’t have future within EY so not sure what the future would be. I think the team is struggling
@Barclays, I would imagine PI Finance is in position to deliver their RPA to Finance functions.
I have heard RPA nonsense within EY for long enough. Haven’t seen any ground realities so hard to believe.
No offer on the table. This is exploratory. Being referred by a former colleague, but they came in at Partner level. I expect an offer, just doing some prelim research.
So you interviewed without knowing the position?
I don't know anyome that has come in at a higher level. Most come in at the same level, some come in a level below if they've been recently promoted to that level.
What made you move from one B4 to another? Just comp?
Hi M1 - interview is scheduled. Partner is in another practice - IT advisory. He’s aware I’m looking for advancement, but he also disclosed they are more likely to bring me in as a manager than SM given capacity constraints in the finance practice. Again - just gauging from fellow fish what salary prospect looks like if I came in as manager. Also want to gauge openness of hiring in at SM level.
@SM1 thanks for the response, that’s part of what I’m looking for and consistent with what I’ve heard.
PWC 1 - yes, primarily comp. I was hired in during the economic downturn, so my initial base was quite low. Hence exploring....
This honestly isn’t my forever job. Once family starts, can’t continue the travel... want to hit SM for a couple years before walking.
@SM1- happens all the time.
Same level is most common. Folks who come in higher either had a very strong case or were the correct D&I ground HR wanted.
Same level.
What about comp expectations for heavy manager or SM1 in pi finance?
M3/M4 w/ 9 yrs experience should get 160-185.
What r u making right now?
