Depends on how you plan to use it. Will the iPad operate as a type of backup/chromebook for your regular computer when it’s not available? Or is it for limited usage like reviewing legal docs, virtual meetings, faxing, texting, legal research, etc.?

I have the air and find it is perfectly sufficient. I didn’t feel like the extra money was necessary. I use mine extensively to email (the Magic Keyboard is a must) and then use OneNote for all my case management. I also use OneNote to mark up documents. Recently used it in a federal jury trial as a trial notebook without issue.
My husband is also a lawyer and he opted for the Pro and paid extra for the better screen because he thought the way it felt to write was more akin to paper. I think the Air is perfectly fine to hand write (but I will agree his does feel smoother and more natural). For me though, the price difference wasn’t worth it.
