I do that and then don’t work through the night. Crap.
My boss only expects me to bill like 5 hours a day.
I def feel more productive after business hours on some days, mostly days when it feels like I'm monitoring emails and turning stuff around rather than deep focus
I absolutely do this and then also “revenge bedtime procrastinate” which is staying up all night doing the things I actually wanted to do during the day but couldn’t bc of my dumbass scheduling decisions.
This in turns leads me to be unable to wake up the next morning and be productive.
Then, repeat all of the above everyday, plus add hatred for myself for doing this. Lmao.
Thank you for sharing: we are all the same person.
I have to get all “my” work done before 9 am, then get all the random “x client/opposing counsel called, please handle” work done.
I feel a lot better everyone. Feel free to drop more admissions to make us all feel normal
Yes I do this every day.
Update: currently beginning actual work for the day.
Yeah I work better at night when the emails, calls, instant messages, anything else really, stop coming through. Also helps to have an ice cold beer, too.
Me literally at this very moment
Lmaooo 🤣 this was such a relief to read. No you’re not the only one, I do this too and hate it. Glad I’m not alone.
Yeah I generally work from 10am - 12:30 ish. I then eat lunch for an hour. Work from 1:30 - 3:30. Then I take a nap till 5. Wake up and work from 5- whenever and that can be until 12 or 1 am.
I just started at a new firm. So I am ramping up. I did something like this today though but instead I took a nap from 4:30-6:30 and worked through lunch. Today I pushed out about 8 billable hours. I expect that I won’t be able take a lunch break soon. But, I rather take a nap lol. I also don’t mind being up till 12 or 1am. Also, I think I’m under billing because I answer a lot of .1s that I don’t account for
I thought I was the only one, but have been starting to do more during the day when I push myself
