FAANG. Realistically, a given person is unlikely to be at MBB 5 years after joining, but they may very well still be at FAANG. At the main points of exit (2ish and 4ish years in), the FAANG person would be in the lead when you consider equity, and with better WLB. Only catch is if MBB person finds a a unicorn exit to PE or something else super well paid.
The people who make partner aren’t the top performers (generally)
MBB unless you get to very high positions in FAANG. FAANG will be higher until equity partner level at MBB though.

@G1, did you have a technical background (ex: software engineering, data scientist) before landing the PM role at Google?
It depends at how successful you are at either of those jobs. If you can’t sell and lead you’ll never make Partner at MBB. If you aren’t exceptional, you’ll never be a senior exec at FAANG.

Lol - what’s the purpose of this question honestly?
Just curious? I like consulting so far and am planning to apply to b school next year with the intention of going back preferably to MBB but everyone on these threads make it sound like by not being in FAANG you’re taking massive pay cuts so just wondering if it were really that much of a pay difference if I were to go back into consulting at an MBB or T2

How much value do you put for quality time spent with each member of your family?
I think that’s so subjective to each person, and also how you like to spend time with family
MBB no question if you ride it to Partner, assuming you don’t hit CSuite ofc
Left 6 years post-MBA (levels different for different MBB), at my second tech company now, 4 years at the first one, one year at the second. (Also not FAANG)
Came from FAANG going back to a FAANG. No money in consulting and the politics are ridiculous. I’ll be making 50% more than before
