Following. I was told it's a pain if / when you sell your house
i wonder why thats the case knowing well that texas already has power issues and can not keep up with the demand.
Also with electric cars coming into play, it only makes more sense to have solar.
With that said, this is the dilemma i am stuck on and would leave feedback on this
If you lease the panels a future buyer will have to take over the lease so it’s a better investment if you are living in your forever home. My neighbors have them and love them but they are retired and don’t ever plan to move.
Never researched this in full detail but have read some handful times on nextdoor certain things not being covered in warranty and ultimately they have to spend a lot in getting replacement etc..
interesting. given the extreme weather conditions and hailstorms hitting pretty often, this is something to factor in and make sure it is covered in warranty/insurance.
About 2 years ago when the major solar providers were having a big run, I read that in many cases the solar companies will over-estimate what your current electricity bill will run over a comparison period, making solar look better than it is. Also, an obvious consideration is how much sun is hitting your roof; there is data that you can find pretty easily that will give you an idea if your house would be a good candidate for solar panel.
That being said, I have a neighbor who has a ~2500sq ft house and pays $150 lease/month for solar panels. I’m sure that’s cheaper than her previous regular electric bill.
