LuggageWorks is what the airline industry people use. That said, you probably don’t travel that much…
I personally am a fan of away but the rest of my fam is B&R… I like a hard shell and always carrying a shoulder bag at the airport on top of a roller where I keep my toiletries which voids another commenter qualm with hard shell. Away also has rollers with exterior pockets now.
I’ve had my away since 2019 and no need for repairs yet. It’s scuffs as you expect but for the most part it looks brand new after I cleaned it. Functions great and I travel more than my family combined so…

As an ex-road warrior, if you are going invest in luggage, choose a brand that has a great lifetime guarantee/warranty, so when they break (and they will), you can get them easily repaired and no cost. Otherwise you are throwing money away for aesthetics.
Both of these brands have the same lifetime warranty!
Are you getting a checked bag or carry on?
I'm anti hard shell luggage, especially for carry ons. I need the outside pocket, especially to stash my toiletry bag when I leave out of a country without TSA Precheck. By that default I'm going with Briggs.
I'm replacing my carry on I got fresh out of college for my birthday this year. I'm curious what others say but my top 2 choices are not Away or Briggs
Checked for now. Away and Briggs seem to be the 2 that people who travel a lot go for because of their warranties.
I’m so crazy picky about luggage because I travel so much. I went through several brands and have a different brand/size for the length of my trips. 😂
I Hope you find what works for you!
I stick with my Samsonite for checked baggage. It’s the carry on luggage that I am much more picky about as I work in Airports and I have to keep it with me all day when I land.
I like Travelpro for my carry-on. Lots of airline/consulting employees use it and I have a set that's held up well for 8 years. This year I'll be finally sending them in for repairs. I lean towards soft bags, but tried a hardshell carryon recently and it's not bad if you invest like anything else.
For longer travel I use Samsonite. Had this larger bag about the same amount of time, but I don't find the wheels to be as agile so there's a tradeoff.
