What is the expected salary range for someone in M&A tax in NYC / SF / LA for Manager, Senior Manager, and Director level?

I have been working with Walmart for the past 14 months and have recently got an offer from Blackrock for 45 LPA.
Considering the recession and US market scenario, help me understand if it will be a good move to join BlackRock OR should I continue with Walmart with the current compensation.

PS. I am not happy with growth prospects in the current project in Walmart.

Let's say I'm selling a house that has appreciated in the past year. If the buyer does an appraisal and it comes back under, are we screwed? What can I do to mitigate this situation? I'd imagine this happens a lot with bidding wars and homes going significantly over asking. Does the buyer then offer to waive the contingency or is that something I have to ask them to?

Why does everyone say the work in FDD is so much better than audit? I’ve been in the group for a few months now, and it seems to be just as bad if not worse.

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good? I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. For Seniors and Managers in FDD, what is the manager’s role on projects? It’s only me and a director at my firm. I find myself taking on all duties of the job outside of establishing the fee and doing the final review of the databook/report. Trying to gage if that’s totally normal for an SA
