How is WLB in accounting advisory (FAAS, CMAAS, etc)? I understand there will be busy times with overtime, but is it the type of thing where I’ll be having to cancel weekend plans out of nowhere on a Friday afternoon? Having to cancel PTO for urgent projects, etc?

I am working for a company that is out of my residential state (A) and my company is withholding taxes based on tht state (B) where my company is. I was checking with my tax consultant and he thought I would have to pay taxes based on my residential state (A) next year (which btw is a massive sum). Any1 else have the same issue or knows anything about this. I imagine with wfh today this maybe a common issue.

Anyone at Deloitte able to speak to general culture and wlb in transaction integration services? Post merger integration. Obviously engagement and team and office dependent, but certain service lines have a bad rep internally for being burn out factories. Trying to get a general sense of the things recruiters and hiring managers perhaps wouldn’t be candid about in relation to this role.

Are 60 hour work weeks regular for you guys. I personally don’t like putting in anything over 45. What’s the average for different companies and practices

Now that agencies are letting us WFH bc of the virus, maybe they’ll realize it’s the better way: Happier people. And won’t make such a big deal about it going forward.

I have been WFH ever since Covid hit. Which I love! ( I do miss the social part of it tho). But I feel ever since then, I became SUPER lazy. (Not with my work) I live in NYC. When I needed to go to the office, I would wake up at 5am, go to the gym, take the train, go to work, come home, cook, spend time with my daughter and help with HW and spend time with my husband. Do it all over the next day. Now my energy is SUPER low. Stopped working out too. Anyone here could share their WFH Routine?

When do you get your ID? I see on Dstart you're supposed to submit a picture for your ID and pick it up when you visit your local office. Is that still the case while we are remote or will they mail it to you?

Why the heck WLB is so bad in ZS across all projects, why cant senior leadership do something about it when they know it is the major reason many talented candidates are declining their offer.
Infact I have seen in few interviews, they upfront warn candidates/interviewees about working hours and ask them if they are ready to work long hours. Is this even ethical?

How do you deal when you know you’re just so burnt out? I feel it— everything is magnified, home life feels more chaotic. I’m looking for jobs. Getting nowhere and lots of automated rejection notes. Work demands are never ending. We have staff, not the right staff, so a lot of work falls to me. I never get to turn off. It’s wearing. Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I don’t think HR or government is for me anymore and looking to find something new, now 24 feel I have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge but worried about private companies in other professions taking me seriously.
