Maybe it's just me hitting a wall after four busy seasons, but I'm really struggling to see the logic in these required long hours. I feel like my brain checks out after about eight hours a day, and those extra hours just feel like a waste of time and energy. The methodologies and processes are quite similar between physical and digital design so i feel i should not start from a junior position, however my portfolio contains only physical. What does a person do who doesn’t find any industry accounting jobs interesting? I’ve been trying to leave for 3-4 years and the only thing that interests me is people focused roles such as sales. I considered recruiting but I’m jaded based on my interactions with most. Public accounting is a decent spot for me but I’m wanting a more consistent schedule of 40-50 and the self centered/dog eat dog culture of my firm continues to crush my soul more and more the longer I stay.
