Strong consulting background at H/S. Applied for MBB NYC internship and got only 1 interview invite (failed to convert final round). Both career center and ex-MBB classmates are shocked. Any insights why others got more interviews than me?

Looking for case partners for upcoming MBB interviews. Currently working in consulting so ideally late (9:30ET or later) most workdays/weekends are open.

Can you get rejected for not explaining framework deeply despite doing everything else correctly (cracking the case? And getting the interviewer’s nods?)

Got a referral to BCG and still haven’t had anybody follow up to screen or interview me. It’s been two weeks now. Lol do I give up all hope? How long does this usually take?

Are ppl worried about being on the bench esp when there aren’t a lot of projects in the pipeline? New hire here about to be up for staffing for the first time and sentiment at my firm seems to be worried/fearful about being unstaffed. Is it actually worrisome to be on the bench in this environment or is this just a product of highly ambitious over achievers worrying about not being constantly utilized?

Is MBB comp significantly different from each other? The initial offers are very similar but curious if there’s significantly different trajectories

Networking: I’m trying to build a network with MBB employees but I’m searching for roles in another country where I’ve got minimal school connections. Should I start by building a network in my home country and ask them if they can put me in touch with someone in my target location? Or just go straight to people in my intended location with cold requests/emails? Thoughts and views welcome!

Has anyone left an integrative MBB role for a more technical data science role? Has that helped increase the comp/wlb ratio?
