I worked at McDonald’s as a cashier/Ranger when I was in high school and a little college. And I would say they had no cultural or racial outreach programs. There was nothing like that and honestly I’m not surprised to see them rolling back their DEI program because let’s face it They were never serious about it.
Pro
I feel the same. I worked there in high school and it was basically a business meant to find the cheapest of labor to make the cheapest of food. That’s it.
Maybe I’m not digging deep enough, but a lot of times the DEI initiatives that were in place before a rollback, were vague at best. Hard to say what was even accomplished and how much is lost when they are no longer pledging to anything. Not sure how much will really change.
Pro
They were all very vague which makes it easy to cut back on them and place blame that they weren’t needed. The programs were poorly implemented on all fronts.
Pro
As much harm as McDonalds does to minorities communities as an “employer” and food option, I am not surprised the company rolls back its DEI efforts nor were they ever serious about them.
