Not financially savvy (learning). I want to set aside $2500 a paycheck for a house down payment in 18-36 months. Does it make more sense for me to contribute the $2.5k to my 401k monthly and withdraw in 2 years, or just set aside $2.5k into a savings account? Already maxed ESPP. My end goal is to buy a house.

So far I’ve been through 1 IVF cycle. I have one embryo that is frozen waiting for transfer. My doctor is wanting me to do another round of IVF to back eggs for baby number two down the road. Has anyone been through this? I know of two people around my age that got pregnant naturally with their second baby after IVF. Does anyone know about banking embryos for future use instead of transferring? My insurance doesn’t cover anything so all this of out of pocket.

Back again with a question for the McKinsey folks! 1. Is it true that if you are internal (specifically PD) you are not eligible for a performance bonus? Just base and the 401K profit sharing? 2. I know McKinsey offers a percentage of your salary into a retirement fund. The recruiter painted it as a range (from 7-12%), but other fish in the main consulting bowl said it’s either 7 OR 12% (no in between) based off of if you’re client facing or internal - which is true? Beginner and trying to get my finances in order. Income: $200k+. Maxed out 401k for the year. I have $60k in my savings account (just paid student debt off this year). I’ve searched the bowl… Are next steps: (a) invest (maybe $30k?) in ETFs and add to it each month, (b) open a HYS at HMBradley to hopefully get a high interest next quarter? I’m not convinced about the mega back door Roth (whether it makes sense for my situation) so putting in only a small amount there. Any thoughts? TIA!

I’m a healthcare consultant. Reading the state vaccine process, it says you can use an employee badge, which I have from my client, as proof of being a healthcare worker. Will the hospital giving vaccines cross-check with my client that I am an active employee? Bad idea? I’m looking for ways to get the vaccine quicker.

Senior, pregnant and worried about busy season because half the seniors in my practice quit in the past two months. Directors have said to seniors “brace yourself”. I am already stressed and high risk and off my ADHD meds and struggling a lot to get work done. Is it worth taking maternity leave early and “screwing over” my teams? I feel guilty. Doctor suggested to take medical leave if I am struggling. Need advice 😢

Asking this question here for a reason. In our culture and set up, a majority of the time is spent in cooking. We usually don’t eat microwave meals. I want to understand how Indian families cope up with all the traveling associates with consulting. Does the mother or father usually stay at home or be in a “light” job?
