Tata Consultancy Hi fishies, I recently interviewed for a Big data dev role for Autodesk but it's via a third party called Applicantz. Initially the contract is for 1 year, which can be extended. There is also scope of Autodesk hiring permanently after 6 months or 1 year. Can anyone provide some reviews about Autodesk and third party Applicantz. Usually I would not have considered anything via a third party, but the company(Autodesk) seems great and work discussed seems good as well.

Ageism laid bare. This is the sad reality of the business. Agency leaders who linger into their 60s, who have completely dismissed the value of their contemporaries to keep themselves afloat. Shame on you Mark Read.

As an official Gen X, I don’t *feel* affluent, but I sure feel ignored!
Millennials are like the kid in junior high that had all the cool music taste that they really got from their older sibling who paved the way (Gen X).
We are so ignored that Millennials are wearing Docs, stonewashed jeans and saying “dope,” yet somehow take all the credit for being on the cutting edge of hipness.
Boomers gave us everything from the Beatles to Sex Pistols and everything awesome inbetween. So... Probably shouldn't start with who is coolest.
Keeping true to the gen x ethos, I prefer living under the radar. Don’t @ me. Don’t ‘gram me. I would die before putting my picture up in my portfolio site. I judge anyone who calls themselves a “leader” in their twitter or LinkedIn bio. I don’t blog. Keep your panels. I’m just going to do the work and try to be a good person without intentionally drawing attention to myself.
Gen X is not the most affluent generation. Baby Boomers are, according to CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, BBC, The Economist…
In this forum? Get some therapy, friend.
I got it—we call it Slacker and everyone shows up late every morning, spends the day bitching about the work they’re not doing, while listening to bad 80s rock (pretty much all of it) on their Sony Walkmans. Come to think if it, cassette players aside, I think those agencies already exist.
Truer words ...
Targeting Gen X? Or run by Gen X?
Why not both?
We'll be the boomers to whatever generation is after the Millennials. Can't wait to see what the Gen X version of "OK Boomer" is
Only if Gen Xers are immune to age-related layoffs and no one gets promoted to VP until they’re at least 40 and/or have so many years of industry experience.
I’m definitely gen x and definitely not among the most affluent. Some of the people I went to school with are rich AF. I’m doing well but have hardly any savings and now college expenses. So, there’s that.
I definitely believe there is an opportunity for an agency like this. Not only because I believe more senior the talent the better - but I rarely pitch any C Suite that is not also in this bracket. And there are as sophisticated as a lot of us given the whole growing up in the 80s bit. And that's not talking about specializing the work to target.
Before I would have said the challenge would be how to scale such an agency.
But I don't think that's they case anymore :)
I don't care about myself. I'm too busy working about aging Boomers and Gen-Z whipper-snappers.

Yes. Even said so, under the ageism thread, a while back. Definitely.
