In this market… reach out to all of them??

Reach out to the ones that have more than one office in the US/globally. Potentially more money and buffer.

AVOID the start up vibes.. but funny thing is, that’s probably your quickest chance of landing a role.

GOOD LUCK!

Your note on global agencies no longer holds true. Not in NYC, CHi, or LA anyway. In fact it’s been the opposite for the last 2 years.

Holding companies with large agency networks have been laying off like crazy if so much as the wind blows, just to keep shareholder profit margins high.

I find that indie agencies on the other hand haven’t been laying people off as often unless they really have to.

So I’m really lucky- top 3 school just X3 my merit scholarship. I had already accepted and paid my deposit- so why would they do this?

Crowe is hiring for quite a few positions across the US (Internal Audit, IT controls and cyber/digital security, Compliance, etc)… I’m a manager and would think some of these niche areas have great opportunity for new folks to excel rather quickly. Great flexibility and mobility policies. I’d be happy to chat if interested and get you directly in touch with the right people internally.

Is it normal for a smaller firm (less than 100 attys) to expect biglaw level hours without the pay? Current first year who has been at my first job since September, making $85k. My firm’s billable requirements aren’t super high at 1900, but the partner I work for has told me that she’d like me to bill 2200.I know there’d tons of ppl in BL billing close to 3k but I feel like this is way too much for my current pay. My salary is the same as other associates who are expected to just bill 1900

Recently got my child's passport renewed. Child is minor so effectively a new passport. Here is the timeline, with just regular service.

6/2 Applied in person at the local county office
6/6 The application reached the State Dept
7/9 Got email that status changed to Approved
7/12 Received the new passport

End to end, a little more than 5 weeks. "Routine service can take 8-11 weeks" is the standard disclaimer. It's all good people!
