My 3mo keeps reaching for their hand to self-soothe. We haven’t offered a pacifier yet — torn between letting it be vs introducing one. Both seem like habits that might be hard to break later. What worked for you? Any regrets or tips on weaning later?

At three months please do worry about it. After few more months start consciously removing it.

We introduced a pacifier when he was a newborn but only for sleep, long car rides or when baby was inconsolable. We weaned at 18 months with no issue.

My daughter was a thumb sucker and was very attached to it. It was how she self soothed and I didn't mind it at all. Our pediatric dentist said it needed to stop once adult teeth came in. We used the T Guard to stop it at age 5.

Our pediatrician had no issue with a pacifier and even encouraged one when we were sleep training. We got rid of it at 18 months with no issues.

Does anyone here live near East 83rd St and 3rd Ave? I'm interested in an apartment there but I noticed a huge construction site at the corner there. The agent said the construction there is now mostly just facade work on the top so it's not noisy any more, but I don't 100% buy that. If anyone lives in that area, can you please tell me if you can still hear any construction noise from inside your apartment when you close your windows at all? Thanks!

I’m accustomed to keeping my students’ IEP folders in my classroom & being held responsible for their safekeeping. Now in a new district, I found that the Case Manager keeps all district IEPs in her office. We have to submit our updates & progress notes to her. And we have to make a planning period appointment with her to come look at any IEP folders. How does your district deal with IEP folder custody?

Does anyone have reference for any company?
