Leave. I'd be more upset with the attorney than the assistant, even though both sound like pretty despicable people. You shouldn't work in an environment where that kind of bullying is allowed. I know "just get a new job!" is easier said than done, but seriously, this is worth leaving over as soon as you're able. You deserve so much better than that.
Sounds all too familiar. Stay strong and lean on your Faith for the right decision 🙏🏽
Start looking for a new job. That sort of negativity isn’t something you want in your life.
Get out. It won’t change, ever.
Can you share a general idea of what the negative talk was about? It is relevant if you want accurate advice.
She was telling her assistant about an incident that occurred that day. And that she was frustrated with the way I handle things even though her details of the incident are incorrect and I have the documentation/emails to dispute her accusations. There would be no reason for her assistant to forward an email like that to another employee other than to humiliate me.

My suggestion is to start looking for other employment but, do not leave until you have other employment. If the attorney does not get a handle on it now, clearly they will attempt it when it gets out of hand however, by then, it will be too late and hopefully you will be out of there in a more mature environment. There is no sense for that kind of nonsense in the office.
