Can’t even imagine what you are going through OP. I think D1 has some solid advice. Talk to some of the leaders on your teams if you are comfortable to make them aware and arrange flexibility when you need it.
Don’t be afraid to make clear that you have bigger priorities for the next year. I hope your little one pulls through.
So sorry to hear. I would think your firm has capacity to be flexible. Talk to your teams and be available to what actually matters, work can wait, family shouldn’t and doesn’t deserve to
Op sorry to hear and can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through friend. Just remember work can always wait, your little one needs you in their corner right now. Sending you strength and good vibes
I’m so sorry to hear this. Someone once told me that babies are actually tough little people; they overcome all odds to get fertilized into a tiny embryo, then grow in a tiny space before squeezing themselves out into the world. Not really sure what I’m talking about but I guess I mean your LO will put up a valiant fight I hope.
As someone who leads a team of people, you should absolutely prioritize the needs of your family. Be communicative with your team leadership, they will be sympathetic and understanding. Fully take advantage of any workplace benefits that can assist you.
Maybe see if you can temporarily take an internal facing role if possible? Market building/BD, thought leadership etc. anything to take the pressure off.
Have a faith man. Everything will be fine.
So sorry to hear this. My wife was diagnosed with cancer when she was 22 months old, and she’s now a healthy professional, wife, and mom. I wasnt around back then but I can tell you both she and her parents are stronger for it. One day at a time.
I’m really sorry to hear this and hope and pray everything works out.
So sorry to hear that. Strength and prayers to you and your family!
Stay strong. Once you weather this storm, it'll give you a whole new appreciation of the valuable time together and puts all the normal day to day work BS back into perspective. Good luck!!
:( sorry to hear OP it must be a difficult time. Sending positive thoughts your way. Wish your baby strength to overcome this challenge and come out stronger.
Thank you all, I needed this
