Go to the gym everyday, workout, get strong. Go to the trainer, use both your hands and pick them up.

use one that is convenient and has avail. it doesn’t matter how good they are if you don’t use it.
don’t pick the cheapest
pick one who has a style of training you like - HIIT, power lifting, etc what’s are their workouts like ? motivator ? drill sergeant ?
It’s a good investment, but to be honest there’s so much free content out there - I feel a PT is needed if you want someone to hold you completely accountable to everything and guide you if you are a beginner and need guidance

trainers are good for 3 things:
1) motivation & accountability
2) teaching how to do exercises
3) helping choose exercises
I’ve been at this a while and still have someone do #3 for me.
Don’t go to just anyone, there are a lot more bad trainers than good ones. Training certificates are easy to obtain. Search on youtube -mind pump choosing trainer. Mind pump is a podcast run by 3 former trainers.

I asked who their clients are, their approach to training, examples of a work out. Some don’t understand how to work with different ages or abilities. I like creative trainers who find different ways to challenge me. Not just the same things over and over with him/ her watching me.
