JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Naw. Most job losses occur when we are called in and are asked to find 20%. Then it just forest clear cutting. Shut down entire departments, subsidiaries, factories. Nobody is going to notice a little bit of data entry improvement. Especially since the next week a new business requirement will happen to break it all and back to manual.
Couple of perspectives - job loss due to technology has been the case since the industrial revolution, because of IT since the 1960s
RPA is just the recent iteration
Most companies these days are looking at cost avoidance rather than FTE reduction - manage more work with the same workforce, avoid hiring contractors, etc etc
These days - RPA seldom causes actual headcount reduction
Likely not. If they do they they probably should find a real skill.
No, have not seen this happen yet. May happen once AI is adopted in the future though.
Whether someone may lose a job? Yes.
Whether someone will lose a job? Depends on the drivers for this project. RPA can help create capacity for other tasks or it can help free up capacity and thus lead to lost jobs.
Of course in reality the project may run into implementation issues and need more staff to be added to deal with the aftermath before eventually being abandoned when the cost of managing the RPA platform and upgrading with each new platform release ends up being higher that the total benefits expected/realized.
What I have seen the most is people being used on other functions, when automation happens on the BPO not sure what happened with the people that executes the automated tasks
