I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.
Thoughtworks
Experts please help.

I just posted about switching out of Rpa a few mins before you posted this. I have been searching for jobs (passively) for the last 2 months and I honestly didn’t find many jobs out there. I think RPA works better for consultants but not in industry based on what I see.
Im working as an Rpa engineer in industry right now (fulltime) and it sucks. There’s not really much work for me.
It's all so accessible on the client side now. Power automate desktop is shipping standard with windows 11 and it's super user friendly. I'm a business side user and going to town with it. RPA is prob making that switch from specialized skillset needed for most tasks to specialized skillset needed for some tasks but leave it up to citizen developers internal for the rest...
I don't think that RPA itself is a dead end. As the tech becomes more accessible, firms are beginning to building the capability in house as opposed to using consultants. On top of that, more and more tech companies are creating their own automation platforms, which have RPA capabilities, which may ultimately lead to a fragmented market. I think you'd be fine having a strong knowledge of UiPath, AA, and Blue Prism. Microsoft's Power platform is also getting g a lot of traction.
Generally speaking about progression, either you'll want to leverage your skills to secure more of a pre-sale / solution architect role.
Otherwise, rather than doubling down on RPA dev skills, I'd maybe consider skilling up in other roles.
I actually just left a dev manager role to move to a sales engineer lead role. Hopefully it all works out
