Will your Dad enjoy it? If yes, then it is a no-brainer
Gift him a Rolex instead
A Rolex appreciates and can also be treated as a heirloom.
Same situation - Dad’s 60th birthday coming up. I can totally afford as well.
In addition to the guilt and the complaint you will hear from family, please also factor that Indian roads are not conducive for luxury cars. Also, maintenance and spare parts is a real pain. I am sure this is better in metros but my parents live in tier 3 cities.
Some of the ideas I have in mind are - a nice SUV car in the 20-30L (primarily because even that is going to be a hard sell to them, he’d rather want a Swift), an international vacation, or making some home upgrades.

Would this be more of guilty feeling? And would it be more your dad or you who would likely be impacted?
Also congratulations on being able to afford a Benz as a gift!!!
Purchase cost would impact me, maintenance cost would impact my dad
Just do it, if you’re in the position to.

You're a good child ! Hope your dad is thrilled and extremely proud of you!
Could become a white elephant. Maintenance costs can be high and you don’t want your parents to come to you for every single change. Expensive for them to do it on their own.
Maintenance is something he can afford but the initial purchase cost is high for him to ever consider it. There are also long term packages you can buy for maintenance and service these days

In a similar situation. My dad can afford to buy on his own, but he’ll never. So, I’m thinking I might as well…
Which model are you considering?

I hope you’ve checked out the prices of imported cars in India, almost 50% of the cost is taxes and duties
Give anything with love. Which you clearly doing. You are good to go. Post the follow up.
