I will print a worksheet for my students to work on after they are done. I make sure it is about something we are going to learn next and tell that it will be graded and then I do grade it but may not put in grade book because they have not been taught this yet. It works for the most part.

This is a really cool idea!
They can read a book, or you can prepare a fun packet for them to work on their math/ reading work

I have a lot of students who like to draw or read. I'm okay with that as long as they are quiet
Hmmm-have then doodle a picture for you like on the board say “when you’re done with the test, draw ________”? Or maybe they can share something they prepared for but didn’t see on the test. Maybe just another prompt too of free writing
This is a really good idea.
I have them go on Edmentum for reading or math.

I haven't heard of this program. Can you give some details about it?
Word search is great they love it especially if you find one they’re interested in

I like the word search. Maybe even a cipher about the subject matter.
